TOOLS

CASCADE TOOLBOX FOR CLIMATE RISK PREPAREDNESS to help prepare your town, city, or municipality for various climate related threats.

EFFECT4Buildings project financial tools to help building managers improve profitability, facilitate funding and reduce the risk of energy eficiency investment in buildings.

The Climate Innovation Window – the online platform for collecting and sharing innovative solutions for climate change adaptation from allover Europe.

The Baltic Smart Water Hub – the online platform showcasing good practices, technical solutions and tools, as well as other relevant materials for the water sector in the Baltic Sea Region. Browse the cases, submit your own, and contact our experts for more information!

The BalticClimate toolkit is an empowering knowledge transfer instrument for actors on the local and regional level who are not necessarily the experts on climate change, but who have an important role to play in the preparation, financing and decision making related to the implementation of climate change measures.

C40 Adaptation and Mitigation Interaction Assessment tool is designed to support city practitioners in climate action planning by mapping the synergy potential, trade-off potential, mal-investment risk and piggybacking opportunities of a wide range of actions, such as switching to electromobility and investing in building-scale solar energy. It also includes more than 60 examples of city initiatives that have aimed to maximize synergies and address these interdependencies.

Green Factor Tool is a practical and user-friendly Excel-based tool for urban planning. It ensures sufficient green infrastructure when building new lots in a dense urban environment. The Green Factor is calculated as the ratio of the scored green area to lot area. The target level for the lot can be achieved flexibly by the garden designer by selecting some of the 39 green elements, such as planted and maintained vegetation or various run-off water solutions, when designing the lot. The green factor can, for example, be included in the zoning regulations or used for granting concessions during a construction permit application process.

VisADAPT, a web tool to assist homeowners to  decrease the risks of extreme weather events to  their houses.

Adaptation toolkit from New Balance, in collaboration with RMIT and the City of Greater Geelong,  will assist organisations to prioritise their climate risks and adaptation actions and make climate change risk consideration a part of their everyday operations. The Toolkit aims to support organisations to integrate adaptation and support effective and efficient risk management; to be more responsive to climate change shocks and trends form linkages across different work areas, internally and externally and make effective and consistent decisions regarding climate change. Find User Guide here.

Levelized Cost of Energy Calculator  is a tool to estimate and compare the socio-economic costs of electricity production in a simplified manner using localized data and estimates. Based on an internationally widely used methodology, The LCoE Calculator permits comparison of different electricity generation technologies based on fossil, nuclear or renewable energy. Download excel-file calculator from here.
