New Climate and Energy webpage of European Environment Agency
The European Union is committed to becoming climate neutral by 2050, in pursuit of the long-term temperature goal set out by the Paris Agreement.
To achieve this objective, milestones have been set for 2030 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve sustainability of energy use in the EU. Already in 2020, the EU achieved its “20-20-20” targets. Monitoring progress and enhanced efforts of the EU and its member countries over the next decade will be critical.
Transparent information on Europe’s progress to climate and energy targets is an important part of global climate governance. This website provides direct access to data and analysis on key areas for achieving climate neutrality, based mainly on official information regularly submitted by European countries to the European Environment Agency.
